On main motor (Baumuller) of Heidelberg Speedmaster 102S six color -
There are twelve carbon brushes around the commutator placed in six pairs. Without power on, three pairs can be seen, checked and replaced without too much trouble. But - Could anyone tell me how to check the bottom sets of commutator brushes that cannot be seen from the top viewing hole - I know they come into view as the motor speeds up but is there an easier way to view and change? Do you have to speed the press up high then stop it dead - this seems extreme. Thank you for input.
