Hi All

I am looking for some help with my Hamada 234A with continuous dampening system and Royce Chiller. The dampening system needs to be adjusted but due to Hamada going under, the dealer who installed the press is no longer around.

Does anyone know of any service shops in the PA, NY or NJ area that could service it? The press is in Northeast PA.

I did read it may be better to convert it to a Kompac system. Waiting on a price from Printers Parts Store in NJ.

Thanks

cant agree with you more the hamadamatics are tough to deal with. kompacs are the way to go.every 234a i sold either had kompacs on or fitted later, which dealer installed the press. i do have a list i will check as i am also an ex hamada dealer.

  • Thanks Hamadaman.

After speaking to a friend who is familiar with the Hamada, mentioned the dampening system is based on the old Dahlgren system on Heidelbergs.

After speaking to a friend who runs Heidies and is familiar with the Dahlgren system, he said you can skew the pan roller to adjust how much water you run on the edges of the plate. Can you skew the pan roller on a Hamada 234A?

Maybe the problem is the pan and metering roller are not parallel and causing the water problem.

I received prices from PPS and was a bit shocked at the price for a Kompac system. Didn't realize it would be that high.

    Thanks

the kompacs are pricey but work great i am going to attempt to attach service manual to this post if it doesnt work i will try to walk you through in another post.

    Kompac is worth the money

Having owned a few Hamadas, I always went with the Kompac systems. They might cost a few bucks, but are well worth the money as long as you stay on top of them as far as cleaning and maintaing them correctly. The waste is very low with them which will always get you your money back. If you have an operator running your press just make sure they as well take great care in cleaning them correctly.
