Metal fingers on a printing press that hold the paper as it passes through the press. Depending on the press design a sheet may go through several gripper changes from printing unit to printing unit. One must allow for a gripper margin inset from the edge of the sheet (The "Gripper margin" of a given press is the unprintable area of the page where the printing press grippers come in contact with the paper.)
