Ghosting Issues on Igen 3

I have this ghosting issues on the Igen 3 Diamond Edition that has had me puzzled for some time now. These are some examples of what's going on in the background. I have change the PR belt, installed a new Magenta Ros, clean/replaced all A/C and D/C dicorotrons, also replaced all grids, done a developer change and developer recovery, loaded software, replaced spots blade, replaced transfer/detack hose, ran Xerographics, Mob calibration, and Color Maint. 200&175, cleaned ALL Ros lens. Could this ghosting issue be in the Magenta only or could another color cause this ghosting problem? The only reason I am thinking Magenta is because that's the color burned on the background of the pictures you see.

What is the toner concentration set at for Magenta and what is it reading? Have you looked at the Magenta dev. donor rolls ?

Yes sir, I have put in brand new Magenta developer donor rolls. I will have to check the readings in the morning but I think the Magenta TC is set at 1189 I can't remember but once I get back to work I will check.

@Milo the Magenta toner is set at 1824 for the Igen 3 and the reading is 4.4846773 the default is 4.5 so it's readings are close. The number I gave yesterday was the TC set for Igen 4 my apology.

Is Xerox servicing or is this self maintenance?

Check your cleaner assy. And also try replacing the preclean dicor.

Xerox is servicing, but the issue hasn't been fixed. Xerox field technicians has came out to try and resolve the issue but it's still ghosting.

I have replaced the pre-clean dicor with a brand new one. That's was my first step and I have also order a new cleaner assy so it has brand new cleaner brushes and spots blade.

I think if it was a heavy magenta only situation, your color would be HORRIBLE. this seems to be cleaning, transfer, fuser.

ive never really seen anything quite like that... but all previous posts mostly covered what id try.

except, maybe trying new transfer settings in media profile....?

any chance its fuser? Iv'e had a REALLY thick paper job that ran for about 4 days fry one before and leave a ghost of a logo.... have a look at your fuser.... but based on photo, doesn't seem the culprit here, just a thought. test that by cheating the front door, then let it run a few sheets and pull the cheater when one leaves the transfer area. let it jam, and see if the ghost is there. also. youll be able to open the belt, and see if theres a residual toner image on it.

@peels I have seen the Xerox technicians come out and cheat the machine but still hasn't resolve this issue. I don't know if they found anything on the PR belt we all thought it might have been the Magenta Ros but that wasn't the case. Do you think it is in another color besides just Magenta....thinking Yellow?

In the windmill image, where it's ghosting "ngland," is that something from within the same job or did you have a heavy run of something for England before it? Was/is it black text on white?

@cargopantsman yes that ghosting is coming from the images within the same job. I will upload a photo of the order they come out if your able to see.

Well, that blows my idea out of the water. I've seen it where if I have some repeating hi-contrast images running, then switch to a different job the after-image kind of gets burnt into the belt, but that's not that high of a contrast and there's plenty else that should be negating any kind of over-charging from one image to the next.

"Unfortunately," I have not had a lot of problems with ROS's (ROSes?,ROSeses?) so I can't really say much else on the issue other than maybe the laser's cranking too much charge, if that's possible...

I cant believe its a ROS.... iv'e never seen one do that. Ive seen them do everything else, like NOT WORK AT ALL. but not leave a perfect ghost. Overtoning, for any color like you are thinking due to a crazy charge, would REALLY destroy your combined colors.... it would be noticeable, plus id think youd never get through a 951...?


what kinda paper we using here? something funky with media settings...not allowing a decent transfer---or fuse? I have seen nearly that exact thing with fusing before.

I very much look forward to hearing the solution here.

No sir, it's our regular stock that we run everyday, media setting hasn't change 80# Blazer 12 x 18.

Check the Ozone system, full pre ozone filters, failed blowers etc

@MarkD yes sir, we have replaced the filters and put in brand new blowers.

We found some issues that the Xerox Technician probably over looked or they put them on wrong. The hoses on the back side for each station was twisted really bad to where there probably was no flow that's why we smelled ozone. Just got finished replacing the bad 3/4 hoses with the black flexible hoses like the one in this photo.

The whole time it was the pre-clean scorotron in the back of the machine that was not making contact with the connection. Here are some photos of how it looks outside the machine.
