Getting Magnet stock to feed

Any suggestions on magnet stock that works? I don't have access to Xerox magnet stock. I tried Nekoosa, but it only runs for one sheet, then it doesn't seem to time correctly and the press calls a jam. The second sheet is always offset, like it got there late. Welcome to any suggestions that will make this stuff actually work.

If the jam being called is a multifeed fault, NVM 12509 should work. It is for the DC131 under Feeders, for each module you have though, not the main engine NVM Read/Write.

Also, at least on the 150, 12509 is the MultiSheet Fault Bypass for the lower trays, not upper.

Never tried running magnet stock myself, so not sure what other problems you may be encountering.

Set up instructions to Enable Igen3 to run Digital Magnet Media.


Log on to “custact” level or higher.

Open Diagnostics Window.

Select Feeders  Feeder1(T2Y-4) DC0131 NVM Read/Write.

Select Search Tab. Enter 12509 in search window. Press show results.

Search Results window will show NVM 12509.

Toggle the “Value” box. Confirm Value Changes window will pop up.

Click on Yes to confirm changes.

Exit Diagnostics.


Output should be sent to “Sample Tray”.

Load media with white side up.

Load sheets in small increments – 10 to 15 sheets at a time.

When printing is complete you must return system to its default value.
In other words, uncheck “Value” box for NVM 12509.

How many sheets do you have to run?

What GSM is this stock? It may be too thick to feed. Gauge the stock.

Otherwise put 1 sheet in the tray and see if it can pick up 1 sheet.

The magnet stock usually feels really stuck to it's own stock (false static).

I have two ideas...
*You can cut down some uncoated stock and slip it in between each sheet. Then program the machine to tell it that the magnet stock should run 1 sheet and then 1 slip sheet after (of magnet stock). - I think this may be possible.

*Run 1 sheet at a time (you are doomed if most of your work is magnets)

*Put 1 sheet in ALL trays and go for gold

*Measure your stock and make sure it's 100% the size it's meant to be.
