Sorry for the lack of terminology I've been working on presses for the last couple years at a couple different plants in the area as all their maintenance men quit/retire But I've been getting what the operators are calling gear marks on the blankets when printing screens. Dark straight lines across the blanket. I went through the entire tower and replaced bearings on the plate, blankets and impression cylinders as I had some play in the plate cylinder hoping that would solve the issue. Operator says tower is running perfect ( a few other issues I fixed while I had the tower off the press) except for the gear marks. Ive also heard that these older diddes were throw away units. I've tore down and installed 3 of these didde units from other plants and they are quite basic, but surely its perfered to fix than throw away. Anyone have any insight or what to look for?
