Hi when you select your plates to change , If you select a single plate do you have the same problem? How dose it stop, dose it stop dead . How is your air pressure?

    Kind Regards.

Hi, i remember having a similar problem years ago on a 1996 lithrone 640 apc

Try looking at the bottom of your plate-loaders to see if you have little red LED lights, there should be one on each side of the plate-loader and both should be on, if not just wiggle the wire as it could be loose..........

this was the problem on the machine i worked on, not sure about newer machines............

    regards

    Carl.................

How far does it get into the process? Carl has a clue in that some sensor or other may not be indicating that the press is ready to continue the process. There are so many sensors that this will be difficult to solve without a service call. There should be a list of sensor indications that you can read from the status lights on the computer. It should tell you which LEDs should be on and which should be off.

Yep your right about the sensor's it could be any of many and can be a pain,
especially when the apc bombs out half way through taking the plates out and you have lets say 3 plates one their way out in reverse which could be many things from beltsets, nipguards, plate-loader loose, plate clamp lock on and so on...........

if it was the air then the apc tune would still play and play, but any of the above the apc would big bong indicating that there is a problem...............

but if the apc system bombs out as soon as you press the apc, to my knowledge its the red LED sensors, i think they detect that bottom sucker alm which inserts the plates, is in the correct position.............

one good this about komori's is that you can put the plates on manually
    until you get service help.........:)

Yes, I see you've been through the drill. On one of the first machines installed in New Jersey, somehow the crew got the plate wrapped around the nip guard so the stop was engaged and they couldn't move the press to unwind the plate. I cut enough of the plate off to bypass the nip guard safety so the machine would move.

It would be helpful to know if the music keeps playing or the bong bong is sounding but in any case, I agree it's probably one of the sensors and you have a clue in that if the sucker bar to insert the plate is not trigering the sensor, that is a likely possibility.

The first step I take is to see what just happened before the press stopped and what is supposed to happen next, then check those sensors.

It could even be that the brake is not stopping the press within the timing window for the next operation whether it is a clamp actuation or a plate insert or eject.

That's why I like the semi-automatic. You don't get stalled with half the plates comming off and half going on and you can easily trace the problem to one unit.

I'm not very familiar with the new system but it follows a similar sequence as the one you have.

Have you checked the locking bar and lever are in the right positions on the loader cassettes This could cause bomb outs Also make sure the leds are clean
