Entering CE mode in Document Centre 235

I'm unable to enter the CE mode (service mode) as per the service manual. It says to press the "0" for three seconds and then press start. On my machine all it does is invert the scanner screen. Can anyone point me in the right direction? And tell me what i'm doiing wrong?

After you've done that, if you login as administrator on the machine's control panel do you find additional options in the system/maintenance sections?

Thanks for replying, I found the chain area, but need to format a new hard disk and not sure how to do this or what chain to use. ch15 fn1 checks the disk but nowhere in the service manual does it give you how to format or initialize the drive.
