EFI Vutek GS3250LX Pro LED hybrid - Carriage lift drive communication failed

Hello everyone,

We have got a Carriage lift communication problem on our printer when it starts up. Was printing all good and then came up with this error.

The machine we have is a Vutek GS3250LX Pro LED hybrid.

The exact error is: “Carriage lift drive communication failed.’’


We’ve checked the following with no luck.

1. Swopped Carriage lift Board.
2. Reloaded software.
3. Checked connection on Serial Server.
4. Swopped serial server with new one.
5. Tested the motor.
6. Swopped the ports from 13 to 14 on serial server.
7. Checked voltage on board and all is correct on all sockets.
8. Swopped cables from board to motor.
9. Tested the communication cable and it works.

We have tried all this but no success and the machine has been standing for 3 days now.

Is there anyone who had the same problem that can help us out?

Hi sir:
Open the cover and make sure the carriage is not touching the limit switch. ... hard disk to retrieve it, this resulting in timing errors and failed prints. .... The print line error, its related to the communication
