S-HAK 7 M3 F7FF
What does this mean. Machine is sm74 perfector

That S-HAK error during the Dyn Test (initialization) usually points to an issue with the auxiliary drive control board.

On Heidelberg presses, the HAK boards control the auxiliary motors (such as the fountain roller motors, water/coating pan motors, or pile motors). The F7FF code (which is very similar to the FFF7 error) in the initialization test generally indicates that the motor power component on that specific HAK board is defective.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot:

  1. Inspect the Board: Locate the HAK board in your main electrical cabinet. Check for any visibly burnt components, blown fuses, or loose connections.
  2. Consult a Technician: Since this relates to a power part failure on the board itself, it's highly recommended to have a qualified electrical tech test the board to confirm the voltage drop or short.
  3. Repair or Replace: In most cases involving this specific initialization error code, the HAK board will either need to be sent out for component repair or completely replaced.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

  • Thanks Kylin,

    S-SSK 2 M14 FFFC

The FFFC and FFFD errors are "time-out" or "positioning error" codes. Since you have multiple motors reporting errors on the same board (M9 and M14), it is highly probable that the SSK 2 board itself is struggling to communicate with the CPU or is experiencing a power supply issue to the stepper driver section.

    • Check the ribbon cables: Before condemning the motors, re-seat the flat ribbon cables connecting the SSK board to the main backplane.
    • Check the +24V supply: Ensure the SSK board is receiving stable voltage. If the board's internal DC-DC converter is failing, it will often cause multiple "M" code errors simultaneously.

Thanks Kylin for information. will this error prevent machine running. The machine is stuck in perfection error
monitoring of reversing drum - storage drum syncronization. set to press back to straight. when trying to straight the machine, the brake release, drum lock is engaged but the machine is not moving at all. this is automatic perfector sm74 machine

  • Fix the Boards First: You will likely find it impossible to clear the perfector synchronization error through the console until those HAK and SSK board errors are resolved. The boards need to communicate properly for the press to verify its position and complete the changeover cycle
