Define "not so expensive." The "not so expensive" printers that balance purchase/lease price, quality, and price per print would be a canon imagepress (slow but good quality) a xerox docucolor 242 (great price per print, but registration takes patience if you need side to side precision), or a konica minolta 5501 or newer (great registration from what I've heard, but finish quality is good for matte but is not good on gloss to my eye.) Anything less I don't think you can get a good enough cost per print or quality to make it worthwhile vs. outsourcing to a press; if your budget is more than $40,000 then that could open up different options.
