The "3" is just telling you that the reversing drum (perfector] is located in the third printing unit. So, P3 in a 4 color machine is a 2 over 2.

They should just call it a 52-2p2. That easily reads as a 2-over-2, and there’s less confusion as to where the reversing drum actually is. And what’s a 52-4p?

4p would be someone designating the press as a perfecting press, it wouldn't be that way on the machine's tag.

    Hi
    For Sm52 4p3 means
Sm52 machine with total 4 units and perfection is after 2
    We can understand with the
    XXXX NPA means
    Machine model XXXX
    number of units N
    Perfaction P
Unit in which before which paper flip is A

    SM74 5P3
Means SM74 5 units after second unit paper get flip (SM74 2+3 )

    Model is xxxx

Previouly for 2+2 perfection /or you can say half the number of total unit is always writen is xxxxNP
Here xxxx is model of machine
    N is number of unit
    P perfaction
    Ex
    Sm102-8p means 4+4
    Hope you under stand.

    Hi,

Both define model and color, but the main difference in both is about Perfecting 4-0/2+2 that one shows.
