Deletion/Image issue (PICS)

Any suggestions or tips to cure this artifact? All info posted below.

20x14 130# Topkote Gloss Cover

Problem-
Small blotches that are smeared/completely deleted 4"-.4.5" in from the LE, sporadically across IB to OB.

Pics attached for examples.

Attachment 1 shows a big smear.
Attachment 2 has a smaller smear outlined in a box.
Attachment 3 has more info, along with the sporadic smears circled from IB to OB. (IB is at the top of the sheet OB being at the bottom)

Interesting marks. Looks like the belt or the sheet is being marked before the fuser.

Shut down the machine while the paper is running and find out where the marks are coming from.

I am unaware as to where the stripper fingers are.

Would this cause the artifact to be in exactly the same spot on every sheet? Cause that's the case on these prints. I thought PR at first but the issue would move around based on the prints, so it is something happening at the same spot every time the sheet goes through.

I know it IS paper related, since it only happens on this thick 130# cover, but would like to solve the problem if possible.

The stripper fingers are on the bar at the bottom of the belt. It swings out of the way when you change the belt.
Do you have the Paper Path Tool? It is in your sample jobs called PaperPathLocaterMap_11x17.pdf
Run this PDF and line up the edge of your sheet to it and look for something that lines up with the marking.

You mean the little cove that opens up on the bottom right side of the PR belt and has the bar inside with a wire attached to it? That bar has already been "modified" aka completely removed years ago by our technicians. They said it doesn't serve too much of a purpose and was causing us image problems in the past.

Well that's good news. I just ripped mine off today I was so frustrated by it.

No good news for me as I still have this current image problem lol.

The only thing I can see that might line up with the marks is the Fuser air knife.
IDK what you could change to adjust that though.

Problem ended up being that the paper was thick and once it got to the fuser the belt speed change along with the grain direction caused it to fly up and drag underneath the RAM. This caused the marks all along in the process direction.

Changing the grain direction along with slowing down the prefuser belt speed helped but the problem was not completely solved.

One small 1/8"- 1/4" mark every 5 sheets or so in the same spot. Good enough.

Problem seems to be worse then when the tech left a few days ago.

This gsm of this is 130# is 352 so I am considering getting the sales to convince the client to go to 120# Cover (325gsm) instead of the 130# cover.

That lower gsm combined with short grain should eliminate the problem

The last time I seen this problem it was a bad new fuser roll. The circumference of the roll was to small which was slowing down the paper causing the prefuser to over drive and bow up the stock. The weight of the stock was not the problem and 8.5x11 ran just fine. It wasn't until I went to 11x17 that it had the exact same problem as seen in the pics.
