Dampening form roller journal seizure.
Has anyone had these seized up removed them and freed it up.
Heidelberg are looking £4000 for the part and tell me it has no bearing in it and cannot be repaired. Is this correct?
Anyone come across this ?
Is it possible to find used parts somewhere on the Internet for these machines?.
Would it be possible to free up if off?
Any help or advice appreciated .
Thank you all
A

I never had to remove/repair this particular assembly, but many similar to it. I wouldn’t deem replacement with new would be justified, as the seizure of the components would typically be caused by emulsified ink buildup and/or corrosion. Removal of the assembly appears labor intensive, but would thoroughly cleaning the whole surrounding area with solvent remove the large snap ring, douse with penetrant and throw heat (industrial heat gun) at it be a solution to your problem?

  • Yes it is labour intensive stripping it out.
I have already try soaking it in solution heating it up and getting it moving ever so slowly but it keeps seizing up.
I think I will give it another go though.
    Thank you for reply

I have never disassembled this type of pamier but I have worked a few times on the bearings of the cd 102 and the sorm.
mechanically there is no difficulty in disassembling and if you want spare parts just give me the exact reference according to your catalog
