So here is my dilema. We have 1,000 plus custom inks that we have mixed for customers over the years. We have all of the formulas for them on a database BUT we have no way of searching that database for say something that very closely matches an ink that we have already mixed. So here was my thought, when we have a customer that needs us to pick a Pantone color for them I can easily use Photoshop's color mixer, type in the correct values, then click color libraries and it will give us the closest mathematical match. I then thought, hey wouldn't it be great if I could do this for all of the custom color matches that we have done. But it turns out that creating your own color book in Photoshop is rather difficult. You can create your own swatch library but it is not searchable. So I am trying to create a custom color book for Photoshop. Anybody know how to do this? Or, may have a better solution for digitizing our custom color library? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
