Have a 5 color Komori 28. Yesterday heard noise coming from roller train. Tracked it down to the X roller, copper oscillator. Bearings fine, whatever provides oscillation internal of the roller ( Worm gear & dutchman?) isn't working. How do I open up the roller? Manual was no help. Had one small bolt on each end. Removed but no go.

    Ideas?

I have a call in. I spoke to a guy in their parts department and he's going to have a mech. call us. I asked the parts guy if they had a more detailed manual
on the specific part but they do not. Our manual shows an oil seal for the internal part of the roller, but not how roller disassembles. Looked like the end might be threaded and tried unscrewing but didn't want to force anything.

Komori mechanics/service reps. are some of the best in the world for customer service. In my experience, they'll do whatever they can to help you out and usually don't charge for over the phone assistance.

    Mechanic called with reply

Mechanic gave me the info I needed. Ends of rollers are threaded and can only be removed by unscrewing them. Once inside the roller, all was familiar. Replacement parts on the way.
