Concrete Foundation base for SM74-6 Year 1996

Can someone with a SpeedMaster 74 6 Colors have ideal the dimensions for the Concrete Foundation (floor base) for the installation in the workshop?


I really need the information! I hope someone can help me!

Hi budruiz, I’m assuming that you’re installing a used press. Do you have access to the documentation that comes with this press?

If you do you will see that Heidelberg provides a floor plan that includes dimensions and weights for this machine.

Providing this floor plan schematic to your installation mechanic and concrete person, if they are competent should be enough for a trouble free installation.

If for some strange reason you don’t have access to this documentation I may be able to provide it for you. But I will need more information than what you provided in your original post. Such as what type of delivery (i.e. standard or extended high pile) or the model/serial number of the press.

Thank you very much Machinist... Yes I'm about to install our Press... but in the documentation that I received doesn't come the exact dimension for the concrete foundation... yous said the recommended dimentiont that is 140cm x 978cm but I'm not sure what to do...

My press is a SM74-6-P3 serial No. 620682 (Year 1996) with High Pile... (not extended delivery)

If you can check some info for this serial number Ill be very thankful with you!

Hi budruiz, there isn’t any specific dimension provided for the foundation itself. There are just too many variables from installation to installation to have a one size fits all floor plan. This is why an experienced mechanic and concrete company would be helpful to you.

Here is the minimum I would recommend for a press like yours…

A length that allows the feeder side frames, all the printing units and delivery side frames be on the foundation. Width should be slightly wider than the oil pans. I recommend an out rigging for the main motor to be on the same foundation as the press. Thickness should be left to a qualified concrete/flooring engineer who will base his recommendation on length, width and weight of the machine and underlying soil conditions.

Do you plan on having the main electrical feed, wiring to the console and exhaust venting underground or overhead? Going underground will alter what I suggested above. See! Variables.

I am looking to move presses to a higher storey. I have specifications of the concrete on soil (thickness, quality), but are there specifications for dynamic stiffness? >2 x 10e8 N/m? I have measured the dynamic stiffness and know the maximum floor load (static).
Or are there other measurements I can do on the floor?
