Hi, I’m new in the graphic industry studying the working of the offset printers, i have the next question:

How works the ColorTronic equipment? I understand that it's used to make adjustments in the inking zone, but i can't find information about what element exactly move, and the machine operator can't explain it well.

Please I’ll very grateful with your help.

    Best regards

Basically the colortronic console is almost similar to Heidelberg's CPC or cprtronic.

It has preselection of printing units 2) remote control of circumferential registration 3) +Lateral

    4) remote control for ink roller. 5) keyboard to control ink zones. basically.

ColorTronic is an ink control system commonly used on offset printing machines to manage and adjust the inking zones precisely. Here's how it works:
The offset printing unit has ink fountains divided into small inking zones across the width of the machine. Each zone corresponds to a section of the plate cylinder, controlling the amount of ink applied.
ColorTronic allows the machine operator to adjust the ink flow electronically from a control panel. Instead of manual adjustments with knobs, the system uses motors to adjust the ink keys (or ink slides) for each zone.
The ink keys are metal plates positioned above the ink fountain. By moving them closer or further from the roller, they regulate how much ink is released onto the ink roller, which ultimately transfers it to the printing plate.
The ColorTronic system controls the movement of the ink keys in each zone. It automatically adjusts based on the job's requirements (like the density of color in certain areas), ensuring that the correct amount of ink is applied consistently across the sheet.

So, in essence, the ColorTronic system adjusts the ink keys that control how much ink each zone applies to the plate.

    Good luck
