hey guys. we have a sm 74 with coater. For some reason, the coater pump / system just turns off. the coater roller continues to spin but the pump will not turn on. We checked the level sensor and it is fine. We also checked the pump, but it seems fine. We also checked the plugs and they are fine as well.

When it turns on, it works for a few minutes and then turns off. I think it may be something electrical. Thoughts?

Please let me know. We are down.

Possibly the sensors that monitor leakage at the diaphragms?

You'll see cables going to the bottom side of each diaphragm housing. If a diaphragm is cracked/leaking, coating will "short" the sensor, stopping the pump.

Are the sensors replaced from the outside of the pump?

Had to replace a split diaphragm today (XL) and the sensor didn't pick it up and stop the pump. Big mess!

Don't want to try taking the new diaphragm off again to replace the sensor, without being able to shove a screwdriver through it...

    Thanks
    Steve

Grabbed it with a pair of pliers and gave it a yank.
Out it popped, thankfully. Just held in with a rubber O ring.

One of the pins was bent, tried straightening it, and the pin broke off. Couple of new ones ordered.

In the meantime pulled the sensor out of the other pump (feed) and left it laying in the sump tray so it should detect a leak off either pump...
