    Hi All
We run a Ryobi 525GX press, we have a problem with the automatic blanket cleaners, they don't seem to clean the blankets well enough and we have to clean by hand! The blanket wash units take the ink off but can leave image from the previous job, which can creep back into the next job, that is if we don't clean the blankets by hand. We don't know if it's the units themselves, the material within the blanket cleaning units or the blanket wash solution we are using? Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so have you managed to find a solution, seems pointless to have the blanket wash systems if you still have to clean the blankets by hand?

Without more information, it's hard to say. Please clarify more.
Are they presoaked or dry clothes?
Do you use water in the cleaning cycle?
What kind of stock is it?
    How long is the run?
How long are you running before washing the blankets?

    Thanks for the reply.

We are using pre-soaked clothes (fluid 1646+), no water is used during the cleaning cycle of the blanket (water is only used as part of the wash-up procedure for rollers/heads). Stock is mostly coated and varies in weight from 100gsm to 400gsm. If say we have a 2000 run and we use the automatic blanket wash units prior, it's likely we would need to clean the blankets by hand 300/400 sheets into the run, after which it's fine.

Make sure the cloth is still turning and not stuck to the bladder. Also make sure the bladder is still ok. Don't change solvents without consulting Ryobi first. Try hitting the cloth with a little water to get the coating off the blanket.

We decided not to use the auto blanket wash system anymore after a couple of months. It took to too long to complete the cycle and it left the blankets too wet to start printing straight away. We got a better result by hand. Used a rapid drying blanket wash between jobs (between 500 and 2500 imp.) and gave the blankets a good clean at lunchtime and the end of the day with a medium drying blanket cleaner and then go over it with just water (helps to get rid of paper dust/particles) then finish off with the rapid drying blanket wash. Works well for us
