    Hello,
Is it possible to increase the production speed of a 2002 Cd-74-5-lx(2) from 15000 sph to 18000sph?
Also, what is the ideal speed for printing IML labels with this machine?

No sir i told you you can not do that ,the speed have relation with fabrication materials of the offset , it s all calculated cylinder aerodynamics , the design of the clamp bars, and also the resistance of the material.

The presses top speed is more than just a bigger motor to turn it faster. The entire press in engineered to run at the higher speeds. Are you already running the press at its top rated speeds most of the time? I somehow doubt it. You should not even be worried about being able to run it faster until youve been able to run it at its current top rated speed job after job.

Why would you need more speed if you're not even close to maxing out the presses current capabilities?

For cd 74 in a good condition , the 11000 RPM is good .
75% of the max speed normally give a good productivity per day , we talk about 40% of Overall Equipment Effectiveness.

Ive gotta tell you that at 5000 sheets per hour your press isnt even close to running in its sweet spot. That press should be at the very least running at 8000 to 8500 sheets per hour minimum just in order to get a good flow of ink through its inker and water through its dampener. At 5000 sheets per hour your barely getting the press off its idle speed water curves!!! If you cant get that press running well at AT LEAST 10,000 per hour there is either something mechanically wrong with the press or your press crew is incompetent.

Arman... what would it be worth to you if I were to come to you and get your presses production speeds to double? Reach out to me via private message if you have an interest in such a proposal.

You can double the press speed by painting press in red colour and installing big trunk spoiler on the press delivery. It works with cars so why shouldn't with printing presses too? :D

For other jobs, on heavier sheets, we print at 12-15k sph.

Still not 15k, so why you need 18? :)
