CD102 - narrow, thin oil stripe on the blanket

Hi,
I've been having a problem with my CD102 for some time now.
A thin, narrow oil stripe appears on the blanket, causing printing problems.
The problem is on the drive side. I'm wondering where this oil is coming from?
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Any advice is welcome....

Quite a few possibilities, but most of the time the cause was worn seals in the oscillator bushings. Look also at the oil lines and banjo fittings feeding various oiling points across the gear side main frame. Look at the journal of the impression cylinder for signs of oil working its way through the frame, there's a drain hole at the bottom of the bearing housing (under the gear side cover, and a pain to remedy if it's the cause) that becomes plugged, allowing excess oil to build up within housing, and flow out the housing follwing the journal into the machine. Oil is like water and electricity, "path of least resistance". It will fling up, out, over, under and whatever direction it can. It's often needed to pull all rubber rollers and closely look for flowage of oil down the frame.
 
  • Hi, thanks a lot. I supposed that it is sealing on the jurnal of the ostilation ink distributor rollers as i saw there small drops of the oil.
    I am going to remove all rollers and check this. But could you be so kind and explaine a little bit more this "closely look for flowage of oil down the frame". Thanks a lot for your support
     
    "If you see a stream of oil flowing down the frame towards the cylinder journals, try to locate it's origin", is what I'm saying.

    Just question about the hole which can be blocked. Do you have picture where it si located? this machine is new for me and i do not know detail design... many thanks for your help
     
  • What is model year? The weap hole I speak of is at the bottom of the main bearing flange of the impression cylinder, under the GS cover. If you were to find the need to explore this potential leak, you'll see a large diameter copper line feeding the top of the flange, and an approximately 6mm hole at the bottom of the flange. Obviously, the gear must be removed to access. This is not a job for the inexperienced. It's also not a common issue. Do focus on oscillators and loose banjo fittings first.
