    Hi all,

I have an issue with a 102 that I've been battling for a few weeks. I'm getting bad feeder issues at speeds over 9k. Over 9k the forwarding suckers will pick up a sheet crooked and crumple into the forwarding rollers. It seems almost as if the forwarding rollers are slow to take sheets or the suction head speeds up too fast for the rollers. Feeder timing and suction head timing have all been checked. Keep getting new parts from techs hoping to solve the problem. Any ideas?

Maybe you should keep the pile height a little higher then increase the blast also make sure the pile is coming up when it's supposed to also check the forwarding wheels have proper pressure and timing

If operator adjustments seem in order, I would suggest you look at the dwell timing gearing located just above your feeder clutch, under the gear side hinged cover. Examine for metal dust/fragments stemming from a blown bearing.

It seems to me that the timing and synchronisation between forwarding suckers and forwarding rollers isn´t correct. When forw. suckers given up the sheet the forwarding rollers should have almost taken over the paper sheet. If not that means you have also a problem with incoming time of the paper sheet at front guards. There are special timing adjustment of the complet feeder regarding machine type and year of the machine. You must find a technician to do the timing adjustment.

When the pick-up suckers have grabbed the sheet, does it clear all sheet separators/brushes completely before transferring to the forwarding suckers, and is there plenty of separator air coming from the blast foot? Your forwarding suckers should get the sheet squarely from the pick-up suckers, with plenty of air separation and without anything else touching the sheet to create resistance. I’ve seen guys using sheet separators as sheet hold downs, not fully understanding what their purpose actually is.

The timing for the feeder head to the forwarding rollers (register board) shouldn’t change when you change speeds on the press, so if the timing is correct for one speed it should be correct for all speeds. Yes?

Good point, Alibryan. Hence, the reason I'm wondering if consistency of paper stream variation is due to some sort of mechanical failure.

    Dear Sir,
Do you have a standard, preset or preset plus feeder.

    Hi sir .
Can you take for me a video that will be good to see really what happend.
I think that in your case you need to verify synchronisation between feeder and forwarding roller , there is a procedure to do that with pin .
Please take me first a video to see the problem .
    Thann you
