I am having problems disengaging the t-head away from the 9810. it keeps hitting the teeth on the main unit. Where can i adjust the t- head so it doesnt keep hitting. If i want to adjust the image by one toothe i have to stick a screwdriver between t-head and main unit. It wont disengage all the way. Is it the turnbuckles on the side of the t-head.? thanks kblack

You shouldn't be having this problem! makes me think it was mounted improperly that's very dangerous to anyone operating it or even standing by it. For now I would just swing it away if not in use otherwise you might have a stripped set screw on the shaft that disengages the head let me know if that helps ya

  • Hi ziggy, i just started having this problem. It disengages but just not enough to miss the teethe on the main unit it barely . Its like something shifted a bit. But the t- head registration is dead on. Where is the set screw located on the shaft. Maybe its just loose. thanks kb

There should be two one on each side take your covers off look at your turn buckles should see the shaft and set screw I will send you pics what's your email??

I got them ziggy, sorry. I know now which ones you are talking about now. thanks i will check them out and let you know. thanks again

I would think by now Kblack that you could take it all apart and put it back together with all we've talked about with this Thead of yours haha

Yea you would think a guy would by now.:) The t-head is registering so good right now even on 12x18 would hate like hell to get it a little out of wack. "Just beware im only beginning to start questions again" :). A second opinion is great. thanks kb

Well ziggy, that didn't solve the problem. something is still out wack. when i put a cleanup matt on the t-head its makes a mess of the blanket. like it is to close. shouldnt that not touch the blanket. the teeth are still hitting. a little frustrating.

You may have a sheared pin! I will look at mine tomorrow at the shop and see whats going on there. I have a spare one I use to use for parts and it's all dismantled so shouldn't be to hard to figure it out.
If its that bad call up your service guy prolly not as cheap as I charge($60/hr) but might be worth it.

    Thanks ziggy,
Im going to run a 11x17 grid this morning and see if it is off or maybe that can tell me something. Kind of shootn from the hip, but guess its worth a try. 60 an hour, does that start the time you get here or the time you leave. Im sure it has to be the time you get here. :D

  • Well travel is charged as well but I usually ride my motorcycle so it only cost a little for the travel. Most repairmen charge the same rate for travel. Cost about $400 for me to just get one in my shop that's why I started my own

    well ziggy,
I ran 11x17 grid. Its off a little but very little . Just can't figure out why its hitting the teethe and when i run a cleanup mat it makes a mess of the blanket . If you were closer i would hire you. But i might have to bite the bullet and have a tech that lives 30 minutes away to make a trip. Im tempted to loosen the 3 nuts under the t-head and see if it would snap back. If i would loosen them and twist the t head to the left so it misses the teethe would i have to adjust the turnbuckles on the side? thanks kb
