BQ 470 Error Code 1489

The milling motor stopped working yesterday on our BQ 470 perfect binder. We figured out that the breaker had tripped so we reset it and the milling motor started working again. Within a couple of minutes we got Error Code 1489 which is a thermal fuse error. The manual says to reset that breaker and if that doesn't work then replace the thermal fuse. We've done both of those things and we are still getting the error. The crazy thing is that the glue pot is actually heating up to temp, so there's clearly no electrical interruption to the glue pot. But we can't lose the error code screen. Tech support w/ Horizon and the distributor don't have a solution. Have any of you run across something like this?

  • Hi sir:

See;F111 PUR Spine Gluing Trolley Thermal Fuse or F121 EVA Spine Gluing Trolley Thermal Fuse blows out. See schematic diagram
The thermal fuse blowout is determined at the auxiliary contact of K110 (PUR) / K120 (EVA) Contactor for H111 (PUR) / H121 (EVA) Tank.

Test; Check if Q110 / Q120 Circuit Breaker for H111 (PUR) / H121 (EVA) Tank Heater trips. If it is not tripped, check for blowout of the thermal fuse. If it is normal,
check for phase failure of the three-phase power. If it is normal, check wiring and connection between K110 / K120 and fuse. If it is normal, replace A110
PUR Spine Glue Temperature Controller or A120 EVA Spine Glue Temperature Controller.

    Hi Richard
We have now error code 1489 on our bq470 and we also tried "every thing possible" and we can't get rid of it, can you point which connector was off on your machine, was it in the spine glue area?
    Thanks
    Avi
