Hi all, i don't do much perfing on my lil duce, but since our vendor who we used to sublet a lot of letter press work to has recently shafted us, i will be getting more involved with this process. I want to state that i don't have a perf attachment for the QM, and cant convince the boss into forking money into one, so the question is, what is the best way to achieve a solid perf without an attachment, and not damaging the press?

Here's my process that was taught to me yrs ago:

    -start with a press sheet
-line out and transfer to Mylar and cut oversize
-put dead plate and blanket on press with .08 mil packing under blanket
-clean imp cylinder, apply 2 sided tape at gripper, halfway and tail
-feed Mylar die by setting trip, and manually rolling sheet through carefully stopping to access and cut lead edge in gripper
-manually roll press while smoothing out perf die on cylinder, at tail apply spray glue to secure tail of sheet
-open blanket all the way and feed sheets on impression
    -check and adjust if necessary.

Short of getting the perf attachment what other options are there to perf with good results and no damage to the press?

    thanks in advance!

SF23 on will do production (blkt - Imp) without plate cyl & rollers. Still use green production button.
