Hi, I hope someone can help - or has had a similar problem - We have a Docucolor 5065 (same as 252/ Workcentre 7755 series)

We are getting a band about 2 inch from the bottom of the paper that runs in the feed direction. It's about a inch wide - the entire lenght on the page.

The band is the yellow dropping out in the particular section.

All other colours are fine, it's just a problem when the colour has Yellow in it. The CMYK drums have been replaced, fuser swapped with another machine but makes no difference.

Have also swapped the second unit along from the left side when you pull out the transfer draw. - I think this is the cleaning assembly - but I may be wrong.

Every other part that can be seen all looks clean and clear.

Is there anything else that can be swapped/replaced etc?

It's just on the yellow, and we have tried 3 drum units - same problem.

hello,if you have tried changing the imaging units and there is no change, try changing yellow developer housing.if it doesnt work there might be a loose connection on the developer.the last option of which is not likely would be to clean the ros

On my Docucolor 252 I get the same thing and its the ROS unit. Its gets dirty and needs to be cleaned. You have to place a service call for it.

Not sure what the ROS unit stands for - we had a solid black strip in feed direction when the corona cleaner stuck part way across, one might manually move it but it will stick again and you can waste a lot of copies - the tech ended up replacing the drive motor for it. We've also had drop outs of color when the toner dispenser screw stuck, for which a new housing was necessary, if you open where the 4 drums are, on operator side is a black strip that pulls back and you see little hoppers, you might also see an excess of toner near the strip where its backed up. Anyway if the toner is not dispensing it will be backed up and overflowing the hopper. Ken

Remove the yellow Drum and inspect the face of the yellow dev tank if you see a corresponding area of low brush height then you will need to get the Y dev tank changed with a new charge of Y dev. K_Graham ROS is raster output scanner. It is the laser unit. These can contaminate in this series of machine and you will need to log a service call unless you are quite adventurous. IF the Developer tank looks OK, The other thing that you can do is (1)TURN OFF THE POWER Remove ALL drums and place in a dark place or black bag.(2) Remove the Drawer unit that the drums sit in.(3) Reach right up inside and clean the ROS window. It is a strip of glass that seals off the machine from the ROS.OF course you will only need to pay attention to the Yellow one. Sorry but it's a bit hard to explain it any easier than this. Hope that it helps. :)

The ROS unit issue seems to be present about a quarter to a third way into the sheet from the operator side of the machine. It goes from the lead edge to the tail edge and is about 1/2" wide. It's not noticeable all the time usually with lighter shades when using yellow. Toner gets inside these units over time and has to be cleaned. It's a service call unless you have the skills and knowledge of a tech. You have to take the machine apart to get at these units. They are under the glass area and above the drum/developer units.
