hi all. am in real need of help. i am having banding problems on the second unit, about 2/3 down the blanket. starting very wide on one side of the blanket, but thining out as it runs across. running heaps of sheets through just lightens the band, but doesnt remove it completly. my thoughts would be that it is a damper setting problem, but the press is running a varn kompac system, and was told that once they are set, they are set for good. dont have this trouble at all on the first unit, only the second.

any advice would be great........

One of my advice Is to check to see if you have ink form rollers that are loose and oscillating left to right.

Where is Mr. H???

    I'm here.....lol !!

I agree .....check your oscillating rollers ( 1 & 3 ) make sure the small levers are resting against the bearings.

Because you have one side of the mark thicker than the other, just double check the plate inkers to oscillator roller settings and make sure they are at 4mm and also to the plate with the settings at a max of 3mm.
The Varn unit should also be checked to the plate, again with a max stripe of 3mm.

If all these things have been checked and are ok we may have to look at some other things.

    Regards.
