Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum. :)
I work on a HP Indigo Press 5500.
I've just wanted to ask - Can you share some info on the topic - What's the average life of the blanket and PIP in Imp. on your Indigo?
I know that it depends on many things and it depends on the jobs that are printed also, but it's just interesting for me to gather some info.
Thank you!

Thank you!

For your press the average lifespan for PIP and Blanket is the following:
Average
Blanket: 55,000
PIP: 72,000
BID: 390,000

HP Recommended
Blanket: 75,000
PIP: 100,000
BID: 580,000

That's HP recommended numbers, of course they can last much more like you said, depending of a good maintenance routine and a good management of the jobs you are printing and their settings... so in this press you can reach these numbers (and I dare to say a little bit more)

Blanket: 150,000
PIP: 120,000
BID: 800,000

That's my personal target, however you will find your best lifespan while keeping a good quality of your jobs. Modern presses consumables can last longer, but that's another topic. Greetings

  • Let me tell you a story. In my place, if you replace the blanket for less than 300,000, you may be scolded.

That's a sad story man. For a 5X00 press, they are making you sacrifice way tooo much quality
