    Hello,

I am seeking advice on realigning a thin metallic part (spacer/shim) in the gripper bar assembly of a Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 - 10 Color, specifically within the perfector unit. This component was disassembled for cleaning and lubrication, but the exact positioning of thin metallic parts for reassembly wasn't noted.

I would greatly appreciate guidance or resources on the correct placement of this parts to ensure smooth operation.

    Thank you for your assistance.

Find a picture of the Thin Metallic Parts Removed behind the gripper.

    Dear Sir
These are the shims under the pincer gripper.
They came with 4 different thicknesses, before you demount the gripper bar you have to know the place of each shims group, so you can put them back again exactly at their original place.
If you don't know where is the place of each group, you have to use a special gauge, in order to keep the height of the gripper bar the same at each holder.
If you put different thicknesses your gripper might not able to open.
Anyway you can order these shims from your agent in your country.

@asem alsafady yes this is the shims under the pincer gripper.

Please find below a description of the issue we encountered:

We experienced a problem with the Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 - 10 Color Perfector. We couldn't transition the machine to the 5/5 perfector mode, and when we tried to revert to the standard 10/0 straight printing mode, a part broke.

Attached is a photo of the damaged component, which we promptly replaced with a new one.

After replacing the broken part, we tried to run the machine in straight mode. Nevertheless, we visually noticed that the pincer gripper wasn't opening and closing at all; it remained blocked. Additionally, we observed that during rotation, the pincer gripper was lagging, and when we touched the pincer gripper at a certain spot, it was moving, which is not the usual behavior.

As a result, we disassembled the pincer gripper, lubricated it, and cleaned it, which restored its normal functionality for opening and closing. However, during this process, we neglected to record the positions of the shims/spacers for each section of the pincer gripper.

We placed the shims/spacers behind the pincer gripper, but we did not align them as they were before since we did not mark their positions during disassembly.

Now, even though the gripper can open and close, when we conducted a paper test, the pincer gripper failed to grasp the paper due to misalignment, causing the paper to fall within the perfector unit.

The paper is only entering the pincer gripper by approximately 1 mm, which is insufficient.

My current mechanic is elderly and unable to perform this task with the precision it requires.

Is there anyone within our group available to come to Albania and resolve this issue? If so, I am prepared directly to cover buy the flight ticket, accommodation, and the price. (Contact me at info@mileniumiri2.al / +355 67 40 99569).

At the moment, this situation is extremely urgent for me because I do not have a backup machine in my production. All production has come to a halt.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

    Thank you very much.
