China’s printing industry is today the second largest in the world. From 1995 to 2007, its average annual growth rate was 16.7%, 1.8 times the GDP growth. From 2008 to 2012, the growth rate dropped to between 8 and 12%, 1.3 times the GDP growth rate.

According to a report by PRIMIR, a market research association for the graphic communications industry, Asia’s whole printing industry currently makes up 30% of the global volume – a figure that will rise to 35.1% by 2014. North America’s share of the same market has dropped from 30.8% in 2008 to 27.3%; Europe has fallen from 27.2% to 22.6%.
