Any other printer deliver the gloss finish of the imagepress c1 but cheaper / faster?

Does any other printer deliver close to the same even and glossy gloss quality of the canon imagepress c1 but do it either faster (than the c1 model which is so slow) or with a cheaper machine or click cost? (and also look good on non-gloss stock too like the imagepress?) I like the way the imagepress c1 finish quality looks more natural than the color copier look gloss I'm used to, but the cost and slow speed of that machine is tough.
