Air Lines L426 #743

My friend Ezequiel has had another bit of bad luck. It seems that mice have chewed through all the air hoses from the air valves while the press sat idle for a period. He is in need of a diagram for routing of the air hoses but in all my 20 years experience, I have never seen one.

If anyone can help or be able to take a photo of one unit of a non APC L26 with a similiar serial number, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please post if you have any information that might be helpful.

I recommended removing the side cover and firing each air valve by actuating the manual switches to find which hose goes where. "Brute force" trial and error might be another strategy.

i believe those airlines are color coded on the lithrone which should make the task easier. There are 2 units of solenoids per station. I think if he pulls of his covers he will see the color combination and if he looks at the solenoid it will still have a hose inserted even if it is flush so that should give him the colors.
At worst he can activate the air solenoid via the press (press not moving) and see which solenoid is firing then connect up to the air cylinders.with new lines. That press hasn't too many air functions.Just make sure that the air cylinder isn't backwards isn't backwards.Thank goodness it doesn't have Apc i have seen some nasty messes from people activating those.
Komori used red, green yellow, white, blue and black .Dampners may be the same colors
Sorry i do not have any pictures on hand but i may have some in a few days on my home pc.
Good luck with the project.

  • Thanks, I explained to Ezeiquel the same basic technique but I think he is having a problem in translation so maybe your description will be more helpful. It's one of those tasks that is easier done than said.

If there is anyone on the forum who can translate between English and Spanish, your help would be appreciated.

I do recall some presses in which the hoses were not color coded perhaps because they had been replaced.

Since he said all the hoses have been chewed off, he cannot use a good unit as a model.

And yes, firing valves on an APC press by pushing the plunger on the air valve can get one into big trouble. In this case, like you said, operate the air valves from the switches since pushing the plungers will not add any information.

First we need to identify the air valves, then connect them to the proper pistons.

If you can get him some photos, I'm sure it will lead to progress.

I forwarded your reply to him so let's wish him luck.

Another caution is to keep hands away from the mechanism when operating the air valves.

I think i may have found the solution to your air line re-piping problem. After taking time to investigate your problem and speaking to my many technical aquaintencies i think this could be the solution you need.
Please remember one thing"prevention is always better than the cure"
