Hi, advice needed on purchase of phaser 7760.
Currently using an inkjet for printing greeting cards on card stock 280-300gsm but with slow speeds need to now upgrade to laser. Printing mixture of text, photos and graphics. Photos need to be good quality. Does anyone currently use or can recommend the 7760 (or similar) for this purpose? Do not require high volume print runs, approx 500 per week. Docucolor 242 is unfortunately way out of budget. Thanks.

Hi Charford, the 7760 is a great machine but is quite expensive to run unless you can get a good supply of toner. They are very reliable and you can feed up to 256gsm through the bypass tray, only up to 220gsm through the main trays. I have seen them rum 300gsm SRA3 via the trays but for how long is the big question.

You can pick these up relatively cheap now.. A good example with less than 100K on the clock, tested and serviced should be around the £2K mark secondhand.

As a business we sell these from time to time but are hard to get hold of a good low mileage machine. We do stock the toners and drums so should you need any of these just drop us a line. We do offer members of the ColorPrintingForum a 10% discount on all of our toners, drums and fusers, just enter the coupon code D9520443MRTY at the checkout section and this will knock the right amount of.
