    Dear fellow printers
I have a buckle problem with an Abdick 8810. ( 0 buckle @ no 15 on the buckle dial), which caused feeding problems.
Trying to solve that I tampered with the 2 adjustments with the 3 little screws under the covers at the O.S
To increase the buckle & lower the sucker feet.
Whuch Resulted in papper doesn't reach the impression cylinder (1 cm gap).
The vacuum valve doesn't seem to need adjustment.
    Imp. Cylinder grippers are tight
    Is this a timing issue?
What does the rubber wheels has to do with this?
How to make papper reach the impression cyl. Grippers?

Hello, I was finally able to look at the buckle control assembly with the cover off. There's a chance you could be missing a spring. What condition is the press in? Is there a chance that some linkage could be rusted together? Also how are the rubber wheels? If they're extremely old then you might have issues. Some deglazer or acetone could help with that. When you have fixed the problem could you post how you did it? I'd be interested to know.

With 20lb bond (78 gpm) there should be a 3/16" (4.8mm) buckle. Sucker tubes' proper height and angle must be set before adjusting the the compound gear and adjusting gear with the 3 screws. Preset the 2 set screws on adjusting gear with a 3/16" (4.8mm) gap on the left side. Measure buckle by hand feeding a sheet till the grippers are closed, draw a line on the tail end of the sheet, lift feed roller and pulling on tailend of sheet, let feed roller down and draw a line on the tail. Gap should be 3/16"(4.8mm).

    Hi Sir
I have an AB Dick 9840 and have the following problem on it:
The Suckers do not go down to pick up the paper and feed it into the machine. Please note: 1) that the machine is running. 2)Vacuum and blower is working and on. The machine is running but the sucker section is just moving to and fro without going down to pick the paper up. It is a problem that started some time ago. I the switched the motor of and left the blower running. I would then turned the wheel (manually by hand) until the suction section went down and suck the paper. I then turned the main motor on and the machine would happily complete the job ... until now. Can you please help? rowen.felton113@gmail.com

Hello Mr. Felton, forgive me if I'm inaccurate since I'm not by a machine that's close to your model but when I had that problem on another press it was an electronic piece that pushed a bar out to start the feeding. That module needed to be cleaned. This is the module on a Ryobi 3302 so it may or may not look close. I can look at a 9800 series parts press in the morning if you need. Good luck.

This should be it. The bar should be loose enough to push in and out. You can clean it with electronic cleaner and let it sit for 5 minutes. If that doesn’t work then check for voltage going to the unit. I’m assuming that you’ve tried feeding mode with the switch and the lever so I doubt there is a contact issue on just the lever but it is possible. It’s possible to run a machine with the panel off and just pushing and pulling the bar by hand but not recommended.

    Hi Warren
I don't have words to thank you! Cleaning the unit with an electronic cleaner worked like a charm!! The machine is happily eating up paper again! Many thanks once again.
