AB Dick century 3000

I am planning to buy an Ab dick century 3000, could anybody tell me their experience about this machine, I am planing to print 4 color jobs, is it a good option? thanks for your answer

By 4-color do you mean process color or simply 4 pantone inks where you have a bit more latitude?

I also was intrigued by the AB Dick 3000, 3500, and 3500 S stream fed presses. "vintagestudio" sold a dozen or so of these 3000 and 3500s on ebay this last year. (the 3500 adds on-the-fly registration skew adjustment, etc.) The common comparison is between these AB Dicks and the Ryobi 3302, with some parts-availability edge possibly going to the Ryobi 3302. I thought these might be a good way for me to get my feet wet with process color offset coming from all-digital color, but I fear they are not up to the task of easily producing magazine-quality process color work. But I would also like to hear from anyone with direct experience working with these presses and pushing them to deliver quality 4-color work.

I run a century 3500 2 c , process is do able but not easy on 11 X 17 on any thing under 70lb stock. My concern would be available of parts as they are not manufactured any more. we have had some success form local sources. Just don't over pay for it.

They sure are selling cheap on ebay.

I almost bought one in 1998, but backed out because of water control problems. When the water was working good, it sure was a nice press to run. I liked the "on the fly" registration adjustment.

I wound up buying a Ryobi 3302H........still had water problems on that machine for several years, 'till new formulated metering rollers came out.
