We have come in today and started up a 3050 and the itm is overheating. On further inspection it seems the itm lamps are staying on all the time, so the itm is heating up whilst the machine is in standby. The itm temperature is going up and can been seen on the display doing so, soI don't think the fault lies with the senosr.

I have powered down to the wall cleaned the itm sensor but still the same.

    Any help would be appreciated

There are two options for this error:
    • A non-calibrated IR temp sensor – for that you need to confirm with external sensor and
    then recalibrate or replace it.
    • Connection problem between the carbon brushes and the sliding rings. This may be due
to coating on the sliding ring and carbon brush tips

If "the itm lamps are staying on all the time" in standby mode it seems like a software bug. Can help restarting press or restoring press configuration. If no, then need to check connections between carbon brush connectors and RIT, then connectors 8P and J23:

Also you can check if there is a problem came from thermostat or "connection problem between the carbon brushes and the sliding rings" by shorting two cables, which connected to carbon brushes (Before do that, be sure to lamps is off on a standby mode!).
