we have tried various types of material.

We are having nightmares trying to laminate sheets that have full coverage, once we trim the sheets down the laminate peels off.
We have slowed down the laminating machine and up'ed the heat but its still a problem, has any body else experienced a similar problem? and come up with a solution.
We are considering trying to convert our hberg 460 GTO to UV varnish the whole sheet and put a UV dryer behind it!

    Feedback would greatly appricated

try laminating at a higher temp. To get the laminate to stick to toner you really have to cook it on, but if its too hot it will melt, i dont know if you have a temp gauge on your laminator but i usually put mine on 145 to start and see from there, wouldnt go lower than 130 though unless laminating thin stock upto 120gsm, or run the heidleburg dry with just varnish and an old plate, no font, youll have to put anti tack in the varnish though or the grippers wont pull the sheet off the impression cylinder, and only have the impression on as little as possible

thx but it seems as if the laminating machine temperature varies when we run more than 10 sheets, I think the temperature starts to drop.

As a bunch of work we do is under 500 sheets we where considering screen printing the UV on and then sending it through a UV dryer, has anyone tried coating this way? does it make sense over replacing our laminating machine?

We need to coat book covers, matt and gloss.

In my opinion the problem is with the toner in the 252!

I didn't read all the post, but I think the best solution would be cold-lamination.

    E. f. "Foliant" laminators are Xerox verified...

    XEROX Product Validation Report
The document company, XEROX, tested the FOLIANT lamination line. FOLIANT Machines were tested and were found to be compatible with XEROX DocuColor 2000 family and DC12, DC40. The product was endorsed and found to be acceptable as an off-line solution. The FOLIANT was also found compatible with the XEROX iGen3 digital press. The Product Validation Report is available for all customers upon request.

    Hello Darrenbarker
To laminate the Xerox (with toner) prints you must use a special film for digital prints.
Ask your film dealer. But the price is, almost, six times the "normal" film.
    Greetings from Portugal.

we have tried everything in South Africa nothing works when the print has high coverage the laminate WILL peal, I believe this is only on the 252 range as the toner is different.

We have been UVing on a screen printing bed, the only issue here is that if you dont get the formula for the UV 100% right it can start to crack on heavy coverage, big problem when scoring book covers.

these guys claim they have solved the problem, but I havnt seen a machine running

We've found that if you leave the prints fopr more than 24hours and then laminate, it tends to solve the problem. Anything laminated immediately after printing doesn't stay stuck.
