Anyone know how to adjust the plate clamping pressure on a semi APC L626?

I've a feeling there's is one cap screw for each segment of the each clamp but can anyone confirm?

Reason?? Well at every plate-up this one unit is about 0.16mm out of square (just about on the limit of the cocking, the registration cutout on the side that's out is slightly deformed indicating that perhaps there is too much clamp pressure on that one side.

I'd welcome any other suggestions - see I don't know it all, no matter what Loupy says :-D

Deffinately not a know it all. You can never stop learning in this industry. Are your plates on the pins flush?

By the way Richard, I resent that comment. I didn't know that's how this website operates. I haven't passed judgment on anyone on this site!

Plates on pins just fine, however i reckon my pressman jumped to an incorrect assumption after a few inaccurate plate-ups. I checked the plates and they were spot on in terms of image placement. The only thing was, I was told that there was a distortion to the punched register hole on one side on the affected unit. Just wanted to know if excess plate clamp pressure could produce such an effect.
In the end it turned out that all subsequent plate ups were fine...go figure.

Regarding your subsequent post can I just have some clarification as to which comment you are upset about?

It's not in my nature to be offensive. I may take the piss but never to offend for it's own sake.

Too much pressure from the clamp? Do you mean that it could be stretching the plate when automatically closing? By the way, no hard feelings, I must have took the Loupey comments the wrong way. It's all good.

I now think my pressman just dropped the plate on the pins too hard. Subsequent plateups have been fine. The clamp indents are just like in Good King Wenceslas...deep, crisp and even ;)

Re: Hard feelings...none on my side either. So manly hugs all round but please, no tongues. :D
