Canon has better color for sure. Quality and reliability will be similar (reliability may be a bit better with Konica). I would seek out a new service provider for your Canon. No need for a new lease... The lease with a service agreement won't be cheap.

You may need some unique tools - funnels - and bins to change the developer. this was always something I had a tech come by and do. Its a bit of a lenthy service on small machines like this. the code i'm not sure of. I'll see if i can look it up.

This is digital printing. Regular service comes with the job.

Replacing of the secondary (or primary if it's very worn) fixing rollers along with the collecting rollers should fix this problem. Sometimes the techs will say its within spec of the machine - which i don't care for much. The prints shouldn't scratch.

Hm. How many clicks? Maybe the fixing roller was blemished in some way during the install. Or the collecting roller has an imperfect finish (this roller cleans the fixing roller, its solid steel and any defect here would leave on imprint on the delicate fuser roller)

The Technician will say this is normal for coated media after the press ages a bit. They can fix it however, with the replacing of the secondary fixing roller and collecting roller. The may be reluctant at first, but these scratches/streaks bother me quite a bit. Especially on larger print pieces.

Are they mulit-page documets? Perhaps its not liking an item on one of the pages. Causing a crash when it RIPs.

Yeah, it's your grid and wires. You can try the above comments advice, but ultimately you will need to have these items replaced. There's no way around it. Adjustments and cleaning > Wire cleaning - to clean the wire.

I wish I knew where the menu was located on the Igen, i'm sure another Xerox printer will hop into this thread shortly. I'm rather sure it will correct your issue.

Are you able to change the Dither pathern for the Igen4? I had this same issue with my Canon ImagePress. With a Dither that compliments gradation and halftones you will have much smoother mid level gradients.

The short answer is yes. But it's quite the machine to have running as simple printer. I would look into a smaller unit for this type of application
