I think it was a combination of the humidity that day being so low that I got a warning and the fuser wrapping the paper.

Be sure to clean off the top of the plastic shelf in front of the cleaning blade and the inside of the NOHAD cover. (the door that swings away) Change the cleaning blade after every PR belt change too. I would even vacuum the carrier belt from the platen to the fuser. I bet there's toner...

To be clear, do the sheets mark on the bottom or top when printing single-sided? When printing two-sided do the sheets mark on both sides?

They are great for dumping used fuser fluid into. Also, I have the "top hat" vacuum attachment and I dump the old toner back into the empty toner tank. I love the "hat", changing all those filters in the vacuum sucked. I used to have to stock 10 -12 vacuum filters now I only have 3 -4.
