  1. Ricoh 651 / 751 experience

Fairly confident I know the problem...but not 100% Your machine is printing problematic of some office grade machines I've fixed before. A few questions and then my thoughts... 1. Is that a black only print out or a composite CMYK "black" print out. If it's black only it should be pretty...

  4. PWS for Docucolor series

I'd ask on xertech they may be able to help. Good 'ol Xerox...overprotective, overcontrolling, but underserviced in many parts of the world.
  5. What 2 color press to buy?

How hard is it to run full color on a 2 color press compared to running on a 4 c press?
  6. Ricoh 651 / 751 experience

I would definitely get a different machine. I wish my customers were as loyal as you've been to Ricoh. What does the banding look like, can you post a sample?
  7. Need laser printer to print heavy cardstock 16pt postcards

Repeat I just answered in another thread so I'll copy and paste: Ok, first off...whether you're looking at a Xante', Xerox, Xitron, Pitney Bowes, Diamond Enterprises, and however many other versions of that exist out there...they are made by Okidata. Some have different feeders available...

Ok, first off...whether you're looking at a Xante', Xerox, Xitron, Pitney Bowes, Diamond Enterprises, and however many other versions of that exist out there...they are made by Okidata. Some have different feeders available. Second, if you're going to do low volume orders of full color...
  9. Risographs vrs Canon IR3200

The two are completely different animals. For quality/full color go laser or offset. For mono, spot color, and difficult medias like envelopes, go digital duplicator.
  10. Oce Varioprint 6160 Gemini

Old post but I'll respond. I post on copier forums a lot and we've talked about the 6250, same engine and guarantee I believe just faster. My understanding is they're very reliable. Bad things I have heard is not the best on solid blacks. If you're doing a maintenance agreement then this...
  11. First Press and ADVICE needed!

Agree with Jeff I'd have to agree with Jeff. The Xante Illumina is not cost effective for everyday color printing. I suppose a low volume of envelopes would be fine but I'm looking at a minimum of 30k-60k per batch.

PA Where in PA is that press located? Does it come with any other options? ~Patrick
  13. Digital Short Runs vs. Print In-House?

Canon, Konica Minolta, NEC, or Kyocera Mita I'd get an entry level color Canon, Konica Minolta, NEC (same as konica minolta in color), or Kyocera Mita. These are sold by dealers. The trade-off between a dealer machines and a superstore machine is initial cost and quality. The dealer...
  14. Help need

Go with Canon or Konica Minolta Some of the xerox printers are Okidata. They're generally alright but there's two things I don't like about them. 1. They don't handle reds very well. I don't know why. 2. Xerox/Okidata use "smart chips" that basically prevent you from printing after a...
  15. Need Laser For 10pt/100 pound cover (CS1)

HP Laserjet 4050 When we do batches of postcards we use an HP Laserjet 4050. The manual tray holds about 40 cards but the printer has a rear eject tray that creates a straight paper path. Con: you'll need about 4-5 do to the amount you're doing (they heat up really quick). Printing will...
  16. printer advice needed

Konica Minolta or Epson I've had good luck with entry level konica minolta color laser printers. Epson lasers seem to do better than HP. It may be cheaper to have an independent copy shop with higher end equipment print them for you. ~Patrick
  17. Question on Toner

Not Likely Considering mica has crystal properties it would most likely not bond with the waxing agent in toner. Second, you'd have to create specific developer to "carry" the mica toner to the drum. You probably wouldn't get the charge to work properly to put the toner on the drum. It...
