Have you reset the chip usually found in the cartridges?

also have you checked that the print heads arent blocked?

i think i sussed it, when i bought the printer it came with extra inks, accept magenta. Being a pigment machine i bought pigment magenta. The inks that came with the machine was encad GS series, which after trooling the net i found out are dye based. in between finding this out ive spent £100 on pigment ink which i now have to empty the lines and clean before i put in some new dye based which im aout to order today. hope this makes sense, please correct me if im wrong.
Anyway i have 6 bottles (cmyk lc lm) canon compatable about 250ml in each going cheap if anyone uses it, if not its going in the trash.
I hope im going in the right direction with this, ive checked the nozzles all firing correctly by the way, its printing fine, just cant get the colours on this machine with these inks. If you have any more suggestions on what else im doing wrong, please enlighten me, cause if this doesnt work im probably going to put a hammer through it:(

    One color problem

Sick of replacing my cartridges once one color has run out, but not other colors. What a waste of money! To refill just one color, I'm using continuous ink supply system (*************). Four huge ink tanks where you can add ink of relevant color (cyan for example) but not other colors as required. You can buy ink replacement kits or just separate ink color flasks at ************* as well. I hate this problem, this is the worst problem I used to have with my printer before. If you print a lot of high quality color material, CISS is really worth considering

Oh i see, joined inks, we have a 12 colour machine with 12 separate tanks, 700ml in each. and it actually works out cheaper for us to use genuine cartridges.

Mosaic777 was spamming links all over for ink system .com - from mosaic777's posts, I don't think this supplier knows much about the printers they are selling ink for!
