Looking for info on setting delivery grippers on a 2007 KBA 105. Looking for the physical/mechanical setting. I've recently taken over running this press and not sure what the previous operator did to it but sheets are slamming into front stops in delivery even with it set at 100/98 on the gripper opening setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like not delivery gripper issue. check suction roller, may be suction too weak, another thing is checking the fans on top of delivery pile, maybe fan speed too low. make sure cam position moving backwards (paper dropping early) when you are raising the press speed.

I agree with michael. it seems the issue is with the gripper or the suction roller

i don't know the CAM for open your delivery grippers is fixed or moveable, if it is moveable and controlled by servo motor, if the servo motor is defective and the CAM position is very close to the front stop, will cause the paper drops too late and hit front stop very hard.

I too would suggest looking into your slowdown wheels. Make sure that the wheels are providing the needed vacuum. Be sure to clean the filter thats attached to your slowdown wheel vacuum line. Adjust vacuum if needed after cleaning. I find that the best delivery control happens when you combine a late cam opening with a low slowdown wheel speed. These settings have the effect of stretching out the sheet and dropping them vertically on the delivery pile.

Change the speed bump strips if necessary
