I have 2 Komori Presses. One is a 2001 LS straight 6 color 40 inch. The other is a 2005 6 color 2/4 Perfector 40 inch. On each press we have 1 unit that gives a toning stripe about 4 inches from the gripper on the gear side of the press. It's the 4th unit on the straight 6 and the 5th on the Perfector. We can get this strip to go away by turning off the brigde roller. We run non-integrated but have tried running integrated. We have replaced all rollers in the respective units. Any help would be appreciated.

Not an uncommon problem with the LS. Have found that the damp form air cylinder is usually the culprit. You may find it is leaking past the piston seal and allowing the form roller to bounce and not clean up the plate properly. Being rectangular in shape, it has an o ring as the piston seal instead of a lipped seal. It doesn’t seal along the long edge. You may also find the piston is cracked as it is only plastic. Replacement seal kits do not fix this poor design. Best solution I have found is to pack under that long edge with some film to help it seal tighter. Also try running without the external spring.
