We've only had this press a short time (bought used) and this afternoon the operator went to set up a job and the A and B Side Registers will not move in. He cycled power once and then requested maintenance. The errors are:

    POS-CTRL: PU 1. Drive/State 2603: Trouble with the drive 0610805
    POS-CTRL: PU 1. Drive/State 2703: Trouble with the drive 0610805

I know that 26 and 27 point to the 2 side register motors but I'm not sure what the error 03 means. I've been looking and can't find that info. The operator manuals are not in English making it hard to thumb through and skimming for info.

Can someone tell me what 03 means?
Also how do I zero these motors out? There is a mention on the extended fault screen about this function but the operator nor I know how to perform this task.
What do the numbers 0610805 to the right of the error message mean? I see numbers on the right of the error messages but don't know there significance.

Both drives are now working after I was walked through how to auto reset zero position from the computer. Learned a lot today.

If you had written at least the year of production, you could have learned more. Not all R700s have an auto zero of the registers.

I was looking for a production date for this press but couldn't find it so I didn't post a guess. The prints are marked 2002 but I've seen some modules in the BA cabinet marked 2006. We bought and moved 2 R702s the end of last year. We have 2 R802s from the 1980s already but these are completely different machines.

1990-2005 the some POS drives have a potentiometer. After 2005-6, POS drives are EA2, now they are EA3
Machine 2002 does not have an auto-zero function of registers drives. They are with potentiometers.
Drive 26/27 is not registers. They are side guide. .... R700 it is 1(one) drive.

Thank you for this info drukman .

I do know that 26/27 are side guides. In this shop side guides are generally called side registers by the sheet fed production guys. Not sure if some the first machines here called them that or if it was that they weren't sure what to call it and landed on side register.

You can do auto zero using hand terminal
