Baumuller BUM617-12/18-31-R-0001-AO10-03 (MAN Roland C37U395335 R700) Servo Drive Braking Resistors

Dear Friends,

Just came an item for in-rush repair, this is the Baumuller BUM617-12/18-31-R-0001-AO10-03 (MAN Roland C37U395335 R700) Servo Drive with at least burned braking resistors on an unoriginal PCB card (as seen on the attached pics). It looks as 47R||47R+47R||47R=47ohm.





1. Can someone confirm the values and connecting topology of the braking resistors?
2. Can someone offer the braking resistors PCB card from an irrepairable drive if available in proper condition?

P.S. The subject has been clarified as to the both of its points and may be removed of the forum. These were the CGS SBCHE15 ballast resistors of total resistance 47ohm of max power 4x17W=68W, which we hope could be procured locally.

Actually, on your original card picture and on the unoriginal card, this is 47R||47R+47R||47R, but your expression is equivalent and might be implemented as well:
47R||47R+47R||47R = (47R+47R)||(47R+47R) = 47R

21.02.22 Baumuller BUM617-12/18-31-R-0001-AO10-03 (MAN Roland C37U395335 R700) Servo Drive repair record
22.02.22 Claimed: A power interruption was solved with a 3-phase power generator which looks as supplied an overvoltage by the customer assumption. The motor does not run, LED's are un/lighting improperly.
Found: Mitsubishi PM200SJ060 IGBT module, ballast resistors' IGBT, SMPS' IGBT - ok.
Braking ballast resistors and corresponding PCB sub-module have been burned.
The PCB sub-module is not original: 47R||47R+47R||47R=47R, 4x17W=68W with installed unoriginal CGS SBCHE15 47R resistors. Original resistors were UTM 218-8 u 47R 10% as on a www.colorprintingforum.com's picture. https://www.colorprintingforum.com/...335-r700-servo-drive-braking-resistors.22727/

23.02.22 D1200 IC (looks as a glue logic PLD) is covered with solder, 9,10(GND),11,12,13 pins are all shorted to GND, on the control board. Caused by melting of the extra amount of solder on the unoriginal ballast resistors connection.
Solved:
1. New ballast resistors 100R||100R=50R, 2x50W=100W placed directly on the aluminium back panel.
1.a. One wire of the fired ballast resistors was improperly crimped to its plug.
*** It may be, this is the actual reason of the ballast resistors firing, since the customer already has replaced the resistors once.
Otherwise, the fault reason should be considered as not discovered completely.
24.02.22 2. R112 12K/2W has a cold solder, seems as was hot over, value checked, resoldered.
3. Cleaning.
4. D1200 IC desoldered of a garbage solder. 9,10(GND),11,12,13 pins look ok as to VCC/GND.
5. Near all caps./rep. preventively, excluding 2x47uF/400V(unavailable now, Control DC Bus) and 2x220uF/400V(Power DC Bus) on the power board.
No cap. was replaced on the control board, due to the in-rush repair.
Awaiting release.
21:47 Picked-up by the customer.
22:50 Confirmed positive field test by the customer, no smoke felt.
The machine is going to be in full load for the night and till 15:00/25.02.22
25.02.22 Pictures reviewing: One screw was not available while disassembly near power connector, and it was forgotten to be placed while assembly. Some filtering caps. has not been connected to the Earth.(!)

 

Dear Oleg, Did you changed burnt D1200 IC or resoldered it again?

Fortunately, the D1200 IC, nor any other device if driving those pins, have not been damaged. The garbage solder was simply removed of only one side (9,10(GND),11,12,13 pins) of the D1200 device.

Replacing of a PLD assumes reading of its FW code, if that is possible to do from a damaged and/or secured device, and programming of a new one with that code, or sourcing exactly such device from another such BUM617 servo drive.
