Activation of Axis Control on Heidelberg SM-74

Hi,
I have recently purchased a used SM-74 2010-2011 model for colour printing. The machine was properly installed by the engineers and is now in production. The machine has 5 colour units plus one unit for the coater.
However, my operator is facing issues in using the AXIS CONTROL feature of the machine because of some technical issues which cannot be identified. I would urge help from the members on the forum so that I can get handy with my machine and use its features properly.

What are the issues you are facing with axis control(gen 2)

 

The green light means that the control axis is active and you can use it. But in relation to the use, you need training on this accessory because there is a lot of handling to know.
I noticed that you have a red light that declares an error on the cp2000 (91). Press the red button to see what problem it is.

I would like to know the operations of the same and how can it get ready for scanning purposes. After the rebooting of the machine is done, it doesn't move and stays at one place.

 

The red button problem is resolved. The issue I am facing is that on the page of AXIS COTROL there is no activity, none of the functions work which can also be seen in the photo.

 

What is this reset for sir? Is it for the machine?

Which color strip are you using currently on the job? Do you have a color control bar on the sheet? Would like to see a picture of the job.

Secondly on the screen you shared there is a yello warning sign on the reference value tab on the right, that means you haven't selected a reference yet do to diagnosis and then optical measuring system and see if anything is selected in the color archive menu send a picture of this menu to check whats wrong

 

The color archive should look something like the attached picture these are reference densities that the axis control is going to follow, pls note you'd we better off hiring an instructor who could train you on the axis control, there are alot of technicalities involved, different surface boards have different reference values, there is a different way of handling process and special colors and everything must be understood to get a good result, the axis control must be allowed to complete its follow up and no zones must be touched manually while it is working.

Your axis control seems to have initialized properly and there is no problem with it except for the required necessary operational knowledge.

Color bar is also an important topic, the axis control reads only color bars which are laid out according to proper specifications. It cannot read the printed image itself.

This operation is for resetting the axis control system, if you have a blockage or an error.
If you want to use the axis control you need several parameters then I advise you to follow the instructions of the axis control catalog to do a little handling training
If you have any problems afterwards do not hesitate to ask them and I will give you solutions.
But at the beginning it is necessary to know the procedure of starting of the system of control suddenly a little training is necessary

Did you configure the colorimetric system when starting the job?
You have to define the search area. The height of the band. And after measure the color of the print media and define the type of the tape measure which will be closer than your measurement by a percentage greater than 90%
Then you can do a scan with laxis control and it gives you the current reading value

As mentioned, these issues you face are way more than could possible be covered on this forum. It would serve you well to bring someone in for a couple of weeks to work side by side with your press crews to train them. Even after a couple of weeks you will not have covered all there is to effectively master all of the features the press has to offer.
