    Hi,

    Have a newly arrived Polar 92 EMC ( EMC 2), there are 2 overload switch ( at the right side ) beside the electronic boards. One of the overload switch ( the right side ) keeps on tripping, the left side overload is set at 4 Amp ( ( its at Maximum ) while the right side is also set at 4 Amp ( its at Minimum ), its Maximum setting is at 6.3 Amps. See picture of the overload switch attached. When the overload switch trips the back gauge does not move. What does the 2 overload switch controls. Is the remedy just to increase the setting of the overload switch so that it won't trip or is there another problem that that is why its tripping.

    Any help is appreciated. Hear from anyone soonest. Thanks.

    It should be for Air pump. Check if it is turning freely.

    Hi,

    Will this cause the back gauge not to move. Because the back gauge does not move when it trips. I was hoping that the overload is for the back gauge motor. Hear from you soonest. Thanks

    Hi Matthew,
    Thank you you were right the overload was for the air pump, its amp is 4.8. Since the overload is only set at 4 amp cause it to trip, so I increase the overload amp setting. The next problem is the overload for the back gauge motor its also tripping, the motor is 2.4 AMP its overload is set at 4 amp ( its maximum ). I have check that there 3 phase power going in the overload, the back gauge motor brake also releases when I push and pull the hand wheel ( forward and backward ). I have brought the motor for check up and is nothing wrong with the motor. But don't know why the back gauge motor overload switch is tripping. Please help, anyone. Thank you

    Hi sir;

    1) Please review the gap for adjustment brake.

    2) see if the belt tension if very Tight!!!! , adjust.

    3) The backgauge can be Overheating NOT burning, the inside varniz covering the windings, can be defective, and need to rewinding, + LUBE, and exchange ball bearings

    Hi, I have had similar problems before, worse when machine is cold. Bearings in back end of lead screw sized up, check and replace bearings
