    Hi all,
I am wondering what kind of nightmare i am looking at to remove a form roller hanger from a GTO-52. The pins that hold the roller bearing are worn on the yellow form, to the point the roller bounces. The stationary pin needs to be replaced, or is it possible to rotate it without removing the hanger ?
    Thanks for any thoughts.

If you pull the rollers out can you get a set of vice grips on it?
I reckon you could get the pin to spin around a bit if you got a good grip on it.
I could be totally wrong of course.

Or cut a strip of coke can and wrap it around the pin.

Hey White Rabbit, There are far too many steps to removal to convey on a platform such as this. Travis mentioned a solution I'd never considered, but unless you shim roller bearings outwards,(Heidelberg sells shim rings in various thicknesses) the side to side motion will wear the aluminum in short time. If you've not noticed, there is the sliding pin, the eccentric pin (locked by means of a set screw which is difficult, nay...impossible, to access without rollers removed) and the fixed pin. Yes, you can try to spin the fixed pin with vice grip, but that never worked out for me.

Just replaced the Journels on my GTO Cyan Water unit. It was a 2 man job that took 5 hours that was for one set of housings on one form roller. They are relatively easy to do as long as you know what your doing just time consuming. Unless you replace the journel you will always have this issue.
I would not recommend doing it yourself if you have never done it before.
Also when ordering Journels you have to have your serial number handy or they will send you the wrong part, cant just go by the part number in the book.

Thanks for the input. Im going to look at different bearings, or maybe shim somehow. If that fails, ill bet there is a private H mechanic somewhere that will do it.
